Common questions about the source registry

How does the registry differ from the archive?
The registry shows what published claims rest on and links each source to events. The archive gathers portal material by section: news, documents, sources and media.
Where does the material itself open?
On the source page: it gives the availability of the material, a link to the publisher's publication and, if the original is closed, an archived copy whose access is permitted. When neither is available, the reviewed metadata remains.
Why does a source have no publication date?
A date is shown only when it is established. Its absence does not block the record: the link between the source and the claims remains, and the date itself can be checked against the publication.
