What each entry shows
Action type
A correction label marks a clarification that was recorded; a corrected label marks one already applied to the record. The type comes from a closed list of values, so the wording never drifts.
Date and order
Entries run from newest to oldest. When two corrections share a timestamp, the one added later stands above.
What stays outside the list
Service edits and changes to unpublished records never appear here. The list therefore shows what changed for readers rather than the internal work on the archive.
Corrections: common questions
- What counts as a correction?
- A change to already published material: a clarified date, spelling, link or wording. Each change carries an action type, a short description and the date it was published.
- Can material change without notice?
- No. Only corrections marked as public appear here, and each of them is dated. Working edits that never reached readers stay out of the public history.
- Where do link and metadata edits appear?
- In the same list: links and metadata have no separate log, so there is no second place to check. The action type shows whether a clarification was recorded or already applied to the record.
